Objective thinking and walking in other people shoes
Today I'd like to write little about what I am going to talk more tomorrow. That is how if we really want to understand someones motives we can not judge them from our perspective.
Let's take Brexit situation for example. So we have people who want to leave EU known as Leavers and people who want to stay a part of it known as Remainers. Now my personal opinion is that it is in UK's best interest to stay a part of European Union, but as we can see not everyone feel this way.
And it is pretty easy to judge the Leavers and say that they don't know nothing (Hey Jon Snow, you're not the only one) or that they are stupid, that their opinion is wrong etc etc. But as a future UX Designer it is in my profession that I should be emphatic towards others.
It is not all black and white. What I mean by that is to truly understand why some people think they would be better off if they left UK I need to "walk in their shoes". I have to put myself in their perspective. Why do they think that? Is it because they are really afraid that immigrants will they their jobs? If so why do they think that? What has happened to them so they feel this way?
And yes, I would say that most of us can agree that UK should stay in EU, and that is probably the "right" option. But to prevent things like that in the future from happening we need to see their perspective, and only then we can do something to stop it from happening.
That's it for now, more tomorrow! Thanks for reading and have a nice day. :)
